About MultiSet

MultiSet builds a scan-agnostic Visual Positioning System. A camera looks at a space, and we return 6-DoF pose: three numbers for position, three for orientation, to within about five centimetres and two degrees. Not "near aisle 14". The exact point the camera occupies and the direction it faces.

Scan-agnostic is the part that matters. Most positioning vendors require their own capture hardware or their own app. We take what you already own. E57 point clouds, LiDAR, Matterport and MatterPak, Leica, NavVis, FARO, XGRIDS, Insta360 walkthroughs, Gaussian splats, textured meshes, phone scans. Vision Fusion normalizes scale, lighting and noise into one map. MapSet stitches captures from different scanners into a single coordinate frame across a whole site. Map Versioning lets a customer re-scan the facility without re-authoring a single AR anchor.

The result runs today across 5,000+ locations in 150+ countries, covering more than 30M sq ft, with 1M+ device interactions. Every map is private and consented. Your data never becomes our model.

One SDK covers Unity, native iOS and Android, WebXR, Meta Quest, Vision Pro and ROS 2, plus REST and GraphQL for anything else. Customers deploy on our cloud, inside their own VPC, on-prem, or fully on-device and air-gapped. MultiSet is an Auggie Award winner for Best Developer Tool.

We think of positioning as the spatial substrate for Physical AI. A robot, a headset or an agent cannot act on a place it cannot locate itself in.

About the Role

You are the technical owner of a customer from the first scan to production.

That starts earlier here than in most solutions roles. Before there is an architecture to design, there is a customer sitting on a decade of scan data in six formats, and someone has to turn it into a map that holds pose in a working facility. That someone is you. Then you design how MultiSet fits their stack, integrate the SDK, get the pilot to a number everyone agreed on in advance, and take it to production.

You are the technical counterpart to our VP of Business Development and to GTM, with our CTO owning architecture. There is no delivery organization behind you. That is the job, and it is the reason to take it: you see the whole arc, and what you learn reaches the roadmap directly, because the person who owns the roadmap sits next to you.

Priority is connected worker and industrial field operations first, then robotics and drones. In practice that means AR work instructions in front of the asset, inspection and commissioning on live sites, and one shared coordinate frame for people, AMRs and drones once the facility is mapped.

What You Will Do

Turn customer captures into working maps

  • Ingest whatever a customer already has and get it to a map with reliable pose. E57, MatterPak, Leica, NavVis, FARO, XGRIDS, 360 video, 3DGS, phone capture.
  • Diagnose why a map underperforms. Coverage gaps, metric scale, repetitive or featureless geometry, low light and direct glare, crowds and moved equipment. Fix it, or tell engineering what the pipeline has to fix.
  • Plan the capture when there is no usable data yet. Choose the right tool per zone, brief our capture partners, or pick up one of the scanners we keep in house and capture it yourself.
  • Build object trackers from customer CAD and GLB when the work attaches to equipment rather than a room.

Design the deployment

  • Design end to end architectures across our cloud, private cloud, on-prem and on-device, covering scale, reliability, latency and security.
  • Run technical discovery workshops. Write down the success criteria before the pilot starts, in numbers.
  • Produce the architecture diagrams, integration plans and documentation that enterprise security reviews ask for. SSO, RBAC, audit logs, data residency.

Integrate

  • Get MultiSet into the customer stack. Unity, native iOS and Android, WebXR, Meta Quest, Vision Pro, ROS 2, and our REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Define the data flows between our maps and their CMMS, MES, ERP, GIS or digital twin, so a work order resolves to a specific asset instead of a room.
  • Work with their identity, network and security teams to get through review.

Close and expand

  • Support Business Development with technical scoping, demos, proposals and pilot design.
  • Own technical success after the signature. Escalations, tuning, field validation and adoption.

Feed the product

  • Turn each deployment into structured product requirements.
  • Push back on one-off work. Find the version that becomes a platform capability and argue for it.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years in solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, systems engineering, technical consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • You have taken at least one enterprise customer from prototype to production yourself.
  • Working knowledge of 3D data. Point clouds, meshes, coordinate frames, metric scale, registration. You do not need to be a computer vision researcher. You do need to be unafraid of a 40GB E57.
  • Strong Python, and enough C#, Swift, Kotlin or C++ to get an SDK running inside someone else's app.
  • Cloud and hybrid deployment fundamentals. Containers, networking, identity, and getting through a security review.
  • You write well. Architecture documents, integration guides and pilot reports are a large part of this job.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites, roughly 25%.

Nice to Have

  • SLAM, SfM, visual relocalization, photogrammetry or Gaussian splatting in production.
  • ROS 2, drone autonomy on ArduPilot or PX4, or AMR fleet deployment.
  • AR development in Unity or WebXR, or on Quest, Vision Pro or smart glasses.
  • Industrial field operations. Utilities, energy, manufacturing, asset inspection, maintenance.
  • Reality capture experience with any of Matterport, Leica, NavVis, FARO, XGRIDS or Insta360.
  • Deploying into regulated environments with private cloud, on-prem or air-gapped requirements.
